Pride & Prejudice Garden Wedding // Idaho Botanical Gardens

If you’re considering an Idaho Botanical Garden wedding, you’re in the right place. Tucked into the Boise Foothills, this venue offers natural beauty, flexibility, and a peaceful setting just minutes from downtown Boise. With multiple ceremony and reception spaces, it’s a favorite for couples who want an outdoor wedding with garden charm—without leaving the city.

We recently photographed a styled shoot inspired by Pride & Prejudice to show just how versatile and romantic the space can be. The Idaho Botanical Garden delivered everything we hoped for: timeless backdrops, great light, and space for personal touches like vintage china, heirlooms, custom cocktails, and soft floral design.

Whether you're planning a large celebration or a smaller, more intimate day, here’s what you should know about hosting your wedding at this one-of-a-kind venue.

Ceremony Spaces at the Idaho Botanical Garden

The Idaho Botanical Garden has multiple outdoor ceremony spots, each with its own atmosphere. Two of the most popular include:

1. The Meditation Garden

This serene, shaded area is perfect for intimate ceremonies. Surrounded by trees and carefully landscaped plants, it offers privacy and a peaceful feel. There’s a natural arch created by the branches—ideal for a simple yet beautiful backdrop.

2. The English Garden

Designed specifically for weddings and events, this space can host larger ceremonies. With a wide lawn, built-in pergola, and a mix of open sky and greenery, it gives couples plenty of flexibility for décor, seating arrangements, and floral installations.

During our shoot, we hiked to Eagle Eye Point, using the rocky hilltop area with sweeping views of the foothills and city skyline. While not an official ceremony site, it made for a stunning visual statement and could be a great photo opportunity for adventurous couples.

Reception Options at the Garden

Reception layouts at the Idaho Botanical Garden are customizable depending on your guest count and wedding style. Options include:

1. The Cottage Garden & Lawn

This area combines open grassy space with floral beds and stone pathways. It's ideal for receptions under a tent, cocktail hour setups, or lawn games. There’s enough room to set up dinner tables, a bar, and a dance floor.

2. The Plaza

The Plaza is a paved, more structured space that works well for seated dinners and evening events. You’ll get easy access to nearby buildings for vendor prep or guest flow, and it can be tented for weather protection.

Each space allows you to bring in your own vendors, giving you creative freedom to design your event the way you want.

Highlights from Our Styled Shoot

Our styled shoot at the Idaho Botanical Garden showed just how much potential this venue has. A few details that stood out:

  • Rust and Thistle’s timeless white florals, styled with antique candelabras, elevated the garden setting with a romantic and refined touch.

  • Sawtooth Calligraphy’s handwritten vow books on textured paper tied with ribbon, embossed with “I love you most ardently.”

  • Vintage tableware and heirloom pieces layered into the tablescape.

  • A custom green cocktail by Boise Bartenders and a two-tier cake with delicate pearl icing, inspired by the line “Bewitched, Body and Soul” crafted by Sweet Moose Bakery.

  • A romantic, lace bridal gown paired with pearl earrings, natural makeup, and a breeze-catching veil from The Bustle Bridal.

  • Bridal by Alicia’s elegant hair and makeup artistry, featuring a reimagined French twist and soft, 1980s-inspired makeup, perfectly complemented the garden setting and the bride’s timeless lace gown.

  • The couple ended the day laughing and running barefoot across the lawn, something only a wide open garden space can truly offer.
