Hey! I’m Katy

I know how fast a wedding day can disappear

I’ve been there.

When I planned my own wedding, I cared deeply about how the day would feel. I wanted it to be meaningful and joyful—not rushed or performative. Like most couples, we spent hours planning, hoping we’d make the right choices and worrying whether the day would live up to what it meant to us.

When the day arrived, it moved faster than I expected. I don’t remember every detail. But I remember how it felt—the wonder, the laughter, the quiet moments that caught me by surprise. I still get giddy flipping through our album.

That experience shaped how I photograph weddings today.

I’ve lived in Idaho my whole life, and I’ve always felt called to tell love stories that reflect how welcoming, meaningful, and beautiful this place truly is. Not just the landscapes, but the way a day unfolds here. The space to breathe, the slower pace, the feeling of being grounded in something real.

I photograph weddings for couples who want connection over performance. Couples who want to be present with their people instead of rushing through a checklist. My role is to guide calmly, create space, and notice what matters as it unfolds, whether you’re getting married in the mountains or somewhere that simply feels like home.

Because years from now, what you’ll carry with you isn’t every detail. It’s how the day felt.

“Katy is absolutely amazing and so personable. From our engagement session to our wedding day, she made the entire process feel fun, easy, and stress-free, and helped us plan out all the photo details so we could just enjoy the day. She made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, and the photos turned out better than we ever imagined. Beyond the images, Katy truly treated us like family and went above and beyond for us.”

Many couples feel like they’re “on” all day. My couples get to just be.

I photograph only a small number of weddings each year so I can give every couple my full attention. That allows me to guide thoughtfully, anticipate moments before they unfold, and protect your time and energy throughout the day. You don’t have to think about what’s next or worry about missing something. You get to stay connected and present.

Being born and raised in Idaho means I know this place deeply. I understand how to work with wild landscapes and intimate spaces alike, shaping a day that feels unrushed and grounded rather than overproduced.

What you’re left with isn’t just a gallery of beautiful images. It’s the ability to look back and remember how it felt to actually live your wedding day.

Beyond the wedding day…

Exploring Idaho with my kids has deepened my love for this place. We hike, camp, wander trails, and spend time outside together, sharing curiosity, noticing small details, and finding joy in simple moments. It’s shaped the way I move through the world and how I photograph it bringing patience, wonder, and a sense of adventure

Lover of strong women

I’m looking at you mom 😘 Who else is on the list? Tamora Pierce (and all her female characters), Taylor Swift, Sailor Moon, Annie Leibowitz, Lyra Silvertongue and Grace Hopper, to name a few. These women and stories shaped how I see creativity, courage, and self-expression. They’re part of why I care so deeply about helping people feel seen and celebrated exactly as they are.

Software Engineer

Before photography, I spent over a decade building software. That background means I’m thoughtful, prepared, and comfortable solving problems quietly behind the scenes. It’s part of how I stay grounded and focused, so you never have to worry about what’s happening next.

Book Worm

Storytelling is at the heart of what I do, and books are my favorite way to explore new ideas. Whether it’s an epic fantasy, a thought-provoking sci-fi, or a business book that sparks growth, I’m always reading —because learning never stops. Ask me about reading 54 books in a year!

Travel is my love language.

Nothing makes me happier than experiencing beautiful places and meeting incredible people along the way. I love exploring new places on foot, hiking, wandering, eating my way through them, and slowing down enough to notice the light, the energy, and what makes each place feel special.

We could just be us.

“Katy was an absolute gem to work with. Being photographed can feel awkward, especially if you’re carrying insecurities, but she has a way of making you laugh and feel confident at the same time. She captured the most perfect moments of our day, and we felt completely ourselves throughout the entire experience.”
